Chester have tied down attacking midfield duo Brad Jackson and George Glendon to new long-term deals.

The pair have signed 18-month contracts with the Blues as managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley look to build for the future after recently committing to new deals themselves.

Despite strong interest from EFL clubs, 23-year-old Jackson has extended his stay at the Deva after impressing on the right flank since joining from Alfreton Town in late 2018.

Joint-boss Johnson said: “Brad has had plenty of interest from other clubs watching him.

“We spoke to him and spent time with him about where he is at in his career – for him it’s about establishing himself at Chester right now.

“I have no doubt he will go on and play lots of games in the EFL further down his career, but it shows a lot for us as a club that he trusts we’re doing the right things for his development – and we can match his ambitions.”

Glendon, who initially arrived at Chester on a short-term basis in August 2019, made his debut in the loss at Spennymoor but impressed the Blues faithful in his first four games.

It was then announced Glendon had signed up for the immediate future with the club, despite interest higher up the pyramid.

Three consecutive man-of-the-match awards would follow for George for the Blues between the end of September and middle of October – as he notched his first goal for the club in the process against Leamington.

Johnson said: “As managers, it goes a long way that he wants to plan long term with myself and Bern.

“But also it shows what the football club is about. To get someone of his calibre enjoying his football here wanting to commit to Chester long term says all it needs to about this club.”
