CHESTER FC has confirmed another pre-season friendly with the news they will be welcoming National League South side Dulwich Hamlet to the Swansway in July.

'The Hamlet', based in South London will take on the Blues on Friday, July 12 with a 7.45pm kick off.

Manager Gavin Rose’s side finished 14th in the sixth tier last term. They were promoted on penalties in 2018 in a Play-Off Final victory over Hendon – their fourth successive season in the end of season picture after three years of struggles.

In March 2018, the club were controversially kicked out of their Champion Hill home ground, but took the fight to the owners and were back from exile by December. They now have the highest attendance in the Isthmian League and the club has gained a reputation for the activist element of their support, with the fans behind the goal going by the nickname of 'The Rabble'. In recent seasons, the Football Club Committee, Supporters Trust and fans have backed anti-discrimination and anti-homophobia initiatives, amongst many other initiatives within the community. The efforts made by the club and all of its volunteers to ensure that the club connects with all parts of its local community were recognised in 2016, when they were awarded the Football Foundation Community Club Of The Year at the National Game Awards in London.

Former Chester and Wrexham player Dom Vose made 33 appearances for the club last season, scoring one goal. He joined the Londoners after departing the Blues following the conclusion of the 2017/18 campaign.
