CHESTER FC has confirmed that defender Danny Livesey will join the Blues on a permanent deal from Salford City from July 1.

The experienced centre-back spent the entire 2018-19 campaign at the Deva on loan from the Ammies who recently secured their Football League status after winning the National League play off final at Wembley against AFC Fylde.

Livesey made 38 appearances in all competitions last term, scoring four goals in total, including three goals in his last six appearances of the season.

The 34-year-old made 311 appearances in the Football League, with his longest period being a ten-year spell at Carlisle United. Livesey also played for Bolton Wanderers, Notts County, Blackpool, Wrexham and Barrow, before linking up with current Chester bosses Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley at Salford in 2017.

Speaking to Chester FC TV, Livesey said: “It was a very easy decision to stay.

“We were building last season, it was a transition. We knew we let ourselves down in a few games but overall, when you consider everything that happened, you could see something building so this was an easy decision.”
