Chester have completed a double swoop for Salford City duo Anthony Dudley and Danny Livesey.

The pair have joined the Blues on season-long loan deals and will link up with former bosses Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley at the Swansway Chester Stadium.

Both striker Dudley, 21, and experienced defender Livesey, 33, were both part of Johnson and Morley’s title-winning National League North squad at Salford last season.

Dudley came through the ranks at Bolton Wanderers and enjoyed successful loan spells at Guiseley and Macclesfield Town, earning him a switch to the Ammies in June 2017.

The hard-working forward made 40 appearances during the title-winning campaign, netting 11 times, including crucial goals in victories over Stockport, Boston and Darlington, finishing the season as joint top scorer.

Livesey has a wealth of experience having made 287 appearances in the Football League for Carlisle United, and has also had spells with Wrexham, Barrow and Rochdale.

Chester have also completed a deal for 19-year-old goalkeeper Theo Roberts from Wigan Athletic.

The teenager will head straight out on-loan with the option of a recall.

Joint-boss Johnson told Chester FC: “Theo comes with a really impressive background at Wigan Athletic. He’s done well in pre-season and is somebody we have very high hopes for in the future.

“To support his development, he will be going straight out on loan to gain further experience with a recall clause should he be required here.”
