GRESFORD ATHLETIC must have really upset the Cymru North fixture planners!

Hot on the heels of travelling to league leaders Airbus, Eddie Maurice-Jones’ side must now head to second-placed Colwyn Bay for their next run-out tomorrow.

Michael Wilde’s Bay are seven points off the pace being set at the top by Airbus and they are on a run of 10 consecutive triumphs in the league, having won just one of their opening four Cymru North matches.

Athletic boss Maurice-Jones said: “It was only a matter of time before they were going to gel and click.

“I have watched them a few times and I think there is more to come from them.

“I think they’re finding a way to win and it might not be pretty, but they have got clinical, quality players up top.”

Although it is another tough challenge, it is one Gresford are looking forward to. Maurice-Jones added: “The pressure is on Colwyn Bay.

“They have got to go and win every game. I don’t think Colwyn Bay or Airbus will slip up much.

“We need to go out there and enjoy it, and stick to the game plan.”

Asa Hamilton has hailed the morale in the Buckley Town ranks as the best he has ever known.

Hamilton and his ambitious side will play host to Bangor 1876 tomorrow and there is a chance that Buckley could return to the top-three.

Hamilton told the club’s Facebook page: “We’re in a really good shape as a team and the morale in the camp, it’s the best I think it’s been since I’ve been here, if I’m being honest and that’s at the start of when I started playing for the club up to now.

“That’s not actually due to me, so I don’t mean that in a way it’s the best it’s been because of me. The lads, I think they’ve all bought into what we’re trying to do.”

The Bangor match will offer an overdue return for striker Brad Knight, who was scheduled to be back for last weekend’s postponed encounter away to Denbigh Town.

A bumper crowd is expected as Holywell Town look to conclude a positive month at home to Penrhyncoch.

Hundreds of tickets have been donated to local residents through a club promotion carried out through schools and the town’s leisure centre.

“We want to keep growing the fan base,” said boss Johnny Haseldin, who has guided his side through an unbeaten November so far.

Holywell continued the unbeaten run with a 2-2 draw at Bangor 1876 last time out. “There was lots of positives and a point on the road at Bangor, we would have taken that at 2-0 down,” added Haseldin, who will welcome Mike Pearson back into the squad tomorrow.

“At 2-0 down, I thought we were the better team. I never felt like we would get beat. The only disappointing thing in the end was we didn’t go on and win.”
