THE name Reynolds is box office in Wrexham but, for once, it wasn’t Reds’ co-owner Ryan taking centre stage.

The glory belonged to Gresford Athletic’s Rob Reynolds in the 15-1 annihilation of NFA in the FAW Reserves North East League.

Rob scored five to move Athletic to within two points of leaders The New Saints, who beat Llay Welfare 5-0. Lewis Wynne hit a hat-trick for the Saints.

Completing the Gresford goalfest were Alex Cooper (3), Callum Wakefield (2), Sam Bryan (2), Connor Groom and James Reynolds.

Airbus won 3-1 at Connah’s Quay Nomads while Caelan McGovern and Connor Thomas scored in bottom-of-the-table Holywell Town’s 2-0 victory over Ruthin Town.

Mold Alex were beaten 3-0 at home by Prestatyn Town and Denbigh Town won 4-1 at St Asaph City.

Connah’s Quay Town stretched their lead in Group B of the North East Wales Reserves Division to nine points after winning 4-2 at second-placed Castell Alun.

Jake Williams, Jon Tear-Edmonds, Sam Fairclough and Callum Woods got the goals with Ben Williams and Reece Jones replying.

Coedpoeth United won 3-1 at Brymbo despite having two players sent off. Oliver Lewis, Kevin Breeze and Iwan Bennett got the goals with Jack Wakeman replying for Brymbo, who also had a player red carded.

In Group A, Ruben Monteiro (2), Josh Hughes, Tommy Hallam and Elliott Kavanagh netted in Penycae’s 5-0 triumph at Hawarden Rangers.

Lewis Wills (2), Ben Davies and Dillon Griffiths were Corwen’s scorers in a 4-0 derby win at Llangollen Town while Leon Whitley scored twice in Saltney Town’s 6-3 win over Brickfield Rangers for whom Alex Leaney also bagged a double.

Llandudno lead the way in the North West League after a 2-1 win over Dolgellau.
