JORD SCOTT’S first match at the helm of Llay Welfare resulted in a 4-2 loss at the hands of Mold Alex.
Scott took charge of the team for the first time following a hectic few days at the club. Welfare announced a mutual agreement had been reached with manager Phil Hudson to part ways on Thursday.
Then, in a statement issued on Friday, the club said: “After lengthy discussions last night, the board have chosen to promote 28 year old Jord Scott as first team manager.
“Jord is a UEFA B licensed coach with experience at Ruthin Town, Denbigh Town and more recently as our first team coach.
“We are excited of giving Jord the opportunity to further his next steps in his football management career.
“We hope all our supporters will fully get behind Jord and the team in our hope of staying in the division.”
A seventh win of the campaign moved Mold up into the top-three.
It was Damase Kiwandwa at the double to put Barry Owen’s side two goals clear inside the opening 20 minutes.
Owen Cordiner added another to put the game to bed prior to the break, while Fabrizio Murtas grabbed Mold’s fourth goal on the hour.
There was some cheer for Llay fans, though, with Scott Swords and Ethan Simpson netting late on. Llay would end the game with 10 men following the dismissal of Max Peate.
