WREXHAM improved in the second half against Stevenage at The Lamex Stadium but created very little in front of goal and suffered a 1-0 defeat.
Stevenage dominated the first half after taking a 10th minute lead and that proved to be the only goal.
Here's how the Reds' players rated.
ARTHUR OKONKWO: Low shot fizzed off wet surface for the goal but will feel he could have saved it. 6
EOGHAN O'CONNELL: Made a brilliant block in the area immediately after Wrexham went behind to deny Stevenage another goal. 6
DAN SCARR: Came in for his league debut and put himself about as the middle centre-back. 6
TOM O'CONNOR: Stevenage caused problems on the counter-attack but misplaced passes didn't help Wrexham. 5
RYAN BARNETT: Made a couple of darting runs first half but was much of a threat after the break, causing problems. 7
GEORGE DOBSON: Unable to make an impact in first half with Stevenage bossing midfield battles. Improved afterwards but Wrexham lacked creativity. 6
GEORGE EVANS: The holding midfielder was back in the starting XI but went off injured just before the break. 5
JAMES MCCLEAN: Stevenage controlled the midfield first half but Wrexham were better after the interval without creating much. 6
SEBASTIAN REVAN: Got down the left flank to support attacks in both halves on return to side. 6
JACK MARRIOTT: Had an early chance during Wrexham's bright start. 6
STEVEN FLETCHER: Linked up well at the start with Marriott and Wrexham asked more questions in the second period. 6
SUBSTITUTES
ANDY CANNON: It was more like it from him in the second half when he got in Stevenage's faces. 6
ELLIOT LEE: Came on when Parkinson made a triple change. 5
PAUL MULLIN: The Reds boss went for it with 25 minutes left and added to attacking options. 5
OLLIE PALMER: Another striker as Wrexham attempted to get something out of the game. 5
JACOB MENDY: Came on in last 10 minutes. 5
