WREXHAM are rubbing shoulders with teams they were used to playing before the non-league nightmare and Phil Parkinson’s men are more than holding their own.
Seventeen points from the opening eight games is a fantastic return and probably a better haul than many expected with the Reds facing some of the promotion favourites such as Birmingham and Bolton in the opening two months of the campaign.
In the top-two heading into October, the table makes pretty reading going into tonight’s game against Stevenage at The Lamex Stadium.
Stevenage, along with Leyton Orient who drew 0-0 at home to Wrexham on Saturday, secured automatic promotion from League Two in 2022-23 when the Reds clinched the National League title.
Orient and Stevenage both finished in the top half of League One last term where they have been joined by the Reds following a second promotion in a row.
It’s a case of so far, so good for Wrexham and although there will be blips along the way, the Reds don’t look out of place in the third tier and you feel there is even more to come from Parkinson’s side.
OUR PREDICTIONS:
STEVENAGE 1 WREXHAM 1 NICK HARRISON
STEVENAGE 1 WREXHAM 2 RICHARD WILLIAMS
STEVENAGE 0 WREXHAM 1 SHAUN DAVIES
THE SCORES SO FAR... RICHARD WILLIAMS 8; SHAUN DAVIES 8; NICK HARRISON 8
