FLINT TOWN UNITED will be looking to bounce back at home to Penybont tomorrow after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Caernarfon Town in midweek.
Lee Fowler’s side were looking to stretch their unbeaten run to four matches, but Matty Jones’ 87th minute strike won it for the Canaries at the Essity Stadium.
Paulo Mendes struck in just the fifth minute to hand Caernarfon the ideal start, however the Silkmen hauled themselves level late in the first half through Izaack Lambert.
Zack Clarke spurned a penalty chance prior to Jones’ winner.
Fowler told S4C’s Sgorio: “Caernarfon were really good. I thought they dominated the game.
“Once we got into our patterns that last 15 minutes, we looked the best team.
“Second half, it was like a basketball game wasn’t it? They missed a penalty and the keeper’s made a fantastic save, but... they’ve come and got the result.”
Flint remain 10th in the table following their sixth defeat of the campaign.
Caernarfon Town are now up to seventh place on the back of the triumph.
Tonight, Barry Town United welcome Aberystwyth Town and Cardiff Met travel to Haverfordwest.
Tomorrow, Bala Town will look to build on their midweek win over The New Saints as they go to Briton Ferry Llansawel.
