SAM DALBY is still waiting for his first Dundee United start although he may be thwarted by former Wrexham striker Louis Moult.
Both players came on off the bench on Friday as United lost 2-1 at Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup.
Dalby, who is loan at Tannadice for the rest of the season from Wrexham, set up Moult for The Tangerines’ equaliser.
Motherwell will now face Rangers in a repeat of a 2017-18 semi-final, which the Steelmen won 2-0 thanks to a double from Moult.
Motherwell, meanwhile, have suffered another significant injury blow with the news that Jack Vale faces up to three months on the sidelines.
The on-loan Blackburn forward who comes from Wrexham, returned to Fir Park for a season-long loan on deadline day but only managed two substitute appearances before picking up the injury in training last week.
Jordan Davies also faces a similar spell out of the game after tearing a hamstring while on loan at Grimsby Town for Wrexham.
Billy Waters - another Wrexham player loaned out on transfer deadline day- has chalked up his first goal for Halifax but Jack Bickerstaff - on loan at Altrincham - is struggling to get a place in a team also managed by a Phil Parkinson.
Goalkeeper Luke McNicholas is probably the most successful of Wrexham’s current loanees plying their trade elsewhere.
He returned to the Rochdale side in Tuesday’s 3-0 win at Hartlepool for his fifth clean sheet in six matches.
