CONNAH’S QUAY NOMADS and Flint women’s teams have continued their fine starts to the season in the Adran Trophy.

Both Nomads and Llandudno went into their group one showdown following big wins and it was Jordan Parry’s Quay who came out on top 2-1.

Nomads had the lead after just two minutes when Evie Chard got the final touch when a Phoebe Ellis corner wasn’t dealt with. Natasha Spearing doubled the lead midway through the first half.

Llandudno won a second half penalty, but this was superbly saved by Molly France. Ella Jones scored in the last minute for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Flint made it two wins out of two in group two with a 3-1 win at Rhyl 1879. Ruby Hastings netted twice in the second half, while Jennifer Haynes added the opener.
