IT was six of the best for Lex XI and Connah’s Quay Town who celebrated 6-0 away wins in the Welsh Trophy first round.
Despite having Ben Pritchard sent off at Overton Recreational, Finley Dyer hit a hat-trick having come off the bench. Alex Palmer, Kian Davies and Tom Huxley also scored for Ricky Evans’ side.
Ben Hughes’ hat-trick was the highlight of Connah’s Quay’s victory at Queen’s Park for whom John Edwards was red carded. Sam Reynolds, Pascal Gomez and Jack Roberts were also on the scoresheet.
FC Plas Madoc won a seven-goal thriller at home to Acton.
Ryan Jakovlevs (2), James Williams and Craig Roberts got the goals in a 4-3 win. Seb Kidd (2) and Oliver Scarsbrook made a real game of it.
Mynydd Isa powered their way to a 3-0 victory over Chirk AAA.
Shaun Tinsley grabbed two of the goals with sub Harry Lambert also on the scoresheet.
Brickfield Rangers thrashed Llangollen Town 5-0 with top scorer Andy Vale and Jay Richardson scoring twice. A Simon Williams’ own goal sealed the deal for Gareth Wilson’s side.
Wilson’s former side Rhyl 1879 were given a good run for their money by Coedpoeth United before running out 4-2 winners. Veteran Kevin Breeze scored for Coedpoeth and set up Adam Lloyd’s goal .
Tom Smith and Callum Mannion were Cefn Albion’s scorers in a 2-0 win over Gronant while Dylan Summers-Jones hit a hat-trick as Holyhead Hotspur pummelled Porthmadog 5-0.
Gwydion Roberts and John Evans were on target in Llanuwchllyn’s 2-0 victory at Boded while Alex Jones netted Corwen’s consolation goal in a 2-1 defeat at Llannefydd.
