BOTH Llay Welfare’s wins so far this season have been in cup competitions but boss Phil Hudson is desperate to break their duck in the league.
Llay, promoted from the Ardal North West League last May, have yet to win any of their six league encounters and sit bottom of the table.
“It’s all well and good beating Denbigh and Buckley in the cup but we need to get a few results in the league,” said Hudson after last week’s superb 2-1 win against Buckley Town in the Cymru North Cup.
“We were superb last week with a depleted squad and it’s given us some headaches for the game at Prestatyn Town.
“We have Max Peate, Dave McIntyre, Matty Worrall, Cavan Daley, Scott Swords and Matthew Thompson all back and the only one missing is Dean Bryan, who is away on his honeymoon.”
Aden Shannon wants his Flint Mountain side to take their frustration out on Denbigh Town tonight after last weekend’s penalty shoot-out exit to Colwyn Bay.
“We were very unlucky,” said Shannon ahead of tonight’s home clash.
“As good as the Bay were we frustrated them to very few chances. We defended superbly and created the better chances.
“We move on to Denbigh which will be another tough game. They’re a very good side so we will have to be at our best.”
Mold Alex have experienced a mixed start to the season.
Barry Owen’s side have lost three of their last four games in all competitions, but the last runout in the league was a 7-0 thrashing of Prestatyn.
Mold will be aiming for another triumph as they head to Caersws tomorrow.
Colwyn Bay welcome Penrhyncoch and Llandudno visit Guilsfield.
League leaders Flint Mountain head to Airbus tonight in the FAW Reserves North East League.
Second-placed Connah’s Quay Nomads host Prestatyn Town tomorrow while Gresford Athletic, in third spot, go to St Asaph.
Other fixtures: Llay Welfare v Buckley; TNS v Ruthin; Denbigh v Holywell Town; Mold Alex v NFA.
