LEE FOWLER has tipped striker Elliott Reeves to find the target as Flint Town United head to Aberystwyth Town in tomorrow’s televised showdown.

A first win of the Cymru Premier League campaign remains elusive for the Silkmen, who let slip a two-goal advantage in last weekend’s 3-2 loss to Barry Town United.

One positive for Flint is that last season’s Cymru North top scorer Reeves (pictured right) made an appearance off the bench, however a disappointing aspect was the loss of Isaac Lee to injury.

Flint boss Fowler told S4C’s Sgorio: “It’s really frustrating, especially once you patch-up one side of the hole and then another hole comes through the other side.

“So, it’s obviously disappointing that Isaac’s come off now, because it’s his other ankle.

“It’s really good to see Reevesy back.

“I think you’ve seen in the glimpses today that his power and his pace and he would have been really good for that and I’m looking forward to seeing Reevesy back in the starting XI against Aberystwyth and I think he’ll end up scoring a couple of goals.”

Meanwhile, Fowler says the players will be determined to secure a first win of the season.

“This game’s personal. Their manager tweeted after we got relegated last season,” he added. “So this is the game that my players will be 100 per cent up for.”

Connah’s Quay Nomads are looking to make it three triumphs on the bounce and they can look forward to tomorrow’s home clash with Barry.

It’s a first home game in charge for new boss Billy Paynter, who is anticipating another testing contest.

“Again, every game will be tough,” he told the club’s X site. “So, we’ll have a good look at the opposition.

“We’ll have them watched through loads of videos and we continue with the winning run and that’s what we aim to do. Work in progress always.”

Skipper John Disney, who scored in last week’s 5-1 success at Briton Ferry Llansawel, has been reflecting on the managerial change at the club.

He said: “First and foremost, the previous management regime were successful and, as a club, we’ve been successful for the last nine-to-10 years.

“So, credit’s got to be due on that part. But, since the new manager’s come in, he’s been brilliant.

“Really positive, going to implement a different style of play, but been really positive around the place.

“He knows that we’ve got a good group of people, a good group of players, a good group of backroom staff that have come in and also stayed.

“So, it’s been really positive and something that we’re just really keen to kick on with.”

Focusing on the players after last week’s win, Paynter said: “It’s a great bunch of lads. There’s experience and there’s youth.

“So, it’s a nice mixture. With today, we had a few tweaks and if it was shape or different personnel in different positions, well that’s the quality of good squad depth that we’ve got and today, some of the football was really good to watch.

“We were cutting up the opposition and we were finally getting into the box and were having bodies in there to put it away.”

Defending champions The New Saints are the only side still boasting a 100 per cent winning record, but this will come under threat away to unbeaten Haverfordwest County.

Leaders Penybont play host to Caernarfon Town as they look to remain at the top, while second-placed Cardiff Met face a trip to Maes Tegid to tackle Bala Town.

Briton Ferry Llansawel, sitting at the foot of the rankings, pay a visit to Newtown.
