WREXHAM have made a flying start to the League One campaign and Phil Parkinson believes there is more to come from his side.

Back in the third tier after clinching two promotions in a row, the Reds have hit the ground running and are unbeaten after the opening four games.

Saturday's 2-0 win against Peterborough United made it 10 points from a possible 12 and took Wrexham up to second place in the table behind leaders Stockport.

Parkinson is keeping his feet on the ground but the Reds' boss believes his team can get even better and go up a level as the season goes on.

"We are obviously pleased with the start but we are not getting  carried away," said Parkinson.

"I think there is more to come from us. We will keep evolving as a team as the season goes on.

"There are obviously areas where we can improve on but there are lots of really good qualities that the squad as a whole is showing at the moment and we are looking forward to maintaining that.

"There is more  to come from us because as staff, when you win it is important to review the game as much as you would if you have drawn or lost so we always look at that.

"But equally, there is more to come as in a lot of the new players are yet to really figure and their opportunities will come along."

Wrexham will aim to continue the unbeaten start against arch rivals Shrewsbury Town in Saturday's cross-border derby at The Racecourse.

"We are enjoying being in this league. There are different levels which is an obvious thing to say and every game represents a different challenge for us," added Parkinson.

"It is up to us to keep finding solutions and that will be the aim this week on the training ground working towards the Shrewsbury game."
