NO senior players will be left kicking their heels when Wrexham's squad for the first half of the League One season is submitted to the Football League and Phil Parkinson is pleased with the group of players he has assembled.
Clubs in the third tier are limited to a 22-man squad, although that number does not include goalkeepers or players who were under the age of 21at the start of the calendar year.
Parkinson, who made eight new signings during the transfer window, had more than 22 senior outfield players on the books in the days running up to the summer transfer window closing on Friday.
When squads are submitted, anyone who fails to make the cut would only be able to feature in cup games until clubs are allowed to change their list when the January transfer window opens but the Reds' boss has been able to make the numbers add up.
Three strikers - Sam Dalby, Jake Bickerstaff and Billy Waters - went out on loan on deadline day and two of the new arrivals - Seb Revan and Mo Faal - turned 21 this year and aren't included in the list.
It means Parkinson has 21 outfield players over the age of 21 and even has room to add one more person - it can only be a free agent - to the group.
"Mo doesn't count in the 22 and Seb doesn't count so that is good," said the Reds' boss.
"We are getting a nice age range in the squad now and I am pleased with that.
"The transfer window is always a difficult one because some you miss out on and some you get.
"But I am pleased with the people we have brought in the building to carry on this Wrexham story.
"The existing lads are doing great and the ones who have got the shirts, but there is good competition and when the games come thick and fast in the weeks to come, we will make changes.
"Ollie Rathbone came on at Peterborough and was outstanding so we know we have got really good players to step in.
"We are enjoying working with the group and there is more to come from us."
HERE IS THE LIST OF OUTFIELD PLAYERS OVER 21: Ryan Barnett, Luke Bolton, Will Boyle, Lewis Brunt, Andy Cannon, Max Cleworth, George Dobson, George Evans, Anthony Forde, Steven Fletcher, James Jones, Elliot Lee, Jack Marriott, James McClean, Jacob Mendy, Paul Mullin, Eoghan O'Connell, Thomas O'Connor, Ollie Palmer, Oliver Rathbone, Dan Scarr.
