SAM DALBY is the latest striker to leave Wrexham on transfer deadline day after joining newly-promoted Scottish Premiership side Dundee United on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old was recruited by Phil Parkinson from Southend United for an undisclosed fee in August 2022 and he helped the Reds secure back-to-back promotions for the first time in the club's history.
He made 73 league appearances - 23 starts and 50 as a substitute - across the last two seasons, scoring seven goals, while he also found the back of the net for the Reds six times in cup competitions.
This term, Dalby made two appearances for Wrexham - making one start and one sub appearance.
Prior to joining Wrexham, Dalby scored 10 goals in 47 appearances for Southend in 2021-22 following his arrival from Watford and was voted the Blues' young player of the year.
Dalby, who has also spent time at Leyton Orient, Leeds United, Morecambe, Stockport County and Woking, will now ply his trade with Dundee United who are currently fifth in the Scottish top flight.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson told the official club website: “I had a chat with Sam earlier in the summer, and felt if we got another striker in then the time would be right for Sam to go out and get some first-team football.
“He had several options in the EFL and the Scottish Premiership, and he’s decided to go to Dundee United. It’s a great opportunity for him, and I’m sure he’ll be a fantastic signing for them.”
