STEVE DALE says his Wrexham players will remember last weekend’s epic contest with Connah’s Quay Nomads for as long as they play the game.

Wrexham’s women’s team boss Dale was left to reflect on a super Sunday, when more than 9,500 spectators were drawn to the Racecourse for Wrexham’s final Adran North match of the season.

TJ Dickens and Rosie Hughes grabbed the goals as the Reds edged out Jordan Parry’s Nomads 2-1.

Speaking to the Wrexham AFC YouTube channel, Dale said: “I still don’t think it’s ever going to sink in, really.

“I think the attendance was outstanding and what a way to cap off the three points with a late goal, similar to the away performance against Connah’s Quay.

“But it’s something that I’ll remember and I’m sure the girls will for as long as they play for this football club and I just can’t thank the club and obviously the fans that have turned out for everything that they’ve done for us to get this event happening.”

The biggest game of the season still awaits the Reds.

They will take on Adran South champions Briton Ferry Llansawel at Newtown’s Latham Park on April 16.

The winners will gain promotion to the Adran Premier and Dale added: “It’s straight to work, really.

“We’re going to go down and watch next weekend, their final league game. Just so we’ve obviously got a little detail on them.

“Prepare then for training and do our homework from there and like we say, it’s one last, big push.

“We’ve worked so hard for it, so we’ve got to make sure that we’re ready for that game, now.”

Connah’s Quay Nomads completed their Adran North season with last night’s trip to Llandudno.

The league season draws to a close on Sunday when Llandudno play host to Llanfair United.

It’s derby day in the North Wales League on Sunday.

The big clash sees Flint Town United playing host to Northop Hall.
