WREXHAM'S destiny is in their own hands and Ben Tozer wants to continue taking care of their own business to keep it that way.

Phil Parkinson's men go into tomorrow's clash against York City at The Racecourse holding a three point lead over Notts County with a game in hand.

With eight matches remaining, the Reds are in pole position in the battle to clinch automatic promotion and Tozer is fully focussed on his own side rather than worry about their title rivals.

"I try not to think about them and worry about them too much," said the club captain.

"It is not worth it at the end of the day because we have just got to take care of our own business.

"When the season started it was in our own hands; we are where we are now and it is in our own hands, we have just got to look after ourselves."

The aim is to stay ahead of Notts County and while there is still a lot of points up for grabs during the run-in, Tozer is not looking beyond York who scored a stoppage time equaliser to snatch a 1-1 draw in December's reverse fixture.

"It is hard to win any game of football so to carry on and win the next eight games will be really hard," said Tozer.

"We have just got to focus on the next game which is York.

"That is all we can worry about. We can't worry about anything else and just crack on with it.

"York was a tough game away from home, they play the way they play and it was tough to play against.

"But every game is tough so we will make sure we prepare properly for the game and enjoy it."

Wrexham go into the clash on the back of a 2-1 win at Bromley last Saturday with leading scorer Paul Mullin bagging a brace to take his tally for the season to 40 goals.

Victory completed the double over the Ravens who beat Parkinson's men in last season's FA Trophy final at Wembley.

"Any win is a big win," said Tozer.

"Bromley is a tough place to go and it is great to come away with the three points.

"They are a good team and they showed in the final last season that they are a tough team to play against so it is brilliant to come away with the win."

But Tozer was disappointed to concede a goal at Hayes Lane, especially so quickly after Mullin struck for the second time to extend Wrexham's lead.

"It is frustrating conceding goals because you want to give the team every chance to win a game and when you concede a goal, it takes the chances down," added the centre-back.

"I was frustrated to concede the goal at Bromley, especially so quickly after we scored.

"It puts everyone a bit on edge but we got the win."
