PHIL PARKINSON wants Wrexham to put more pressure on National League title rivals Notts County by extending their lead to seven points before the Magpies play their next match.

The Reds won 4-0 at Dagenham and Redbridge in their game in hand on Tuesday to move four points ahead of County, and both teams have 10 games remaining.

Wrexham continue the automatic promotion challenge against Southend United at The Racecourse (3pm) tomorrow with the Magpies also at home to Dorking Wanderers in the tea-time kick-off.

Victory will extend Wrexham's advantage at the summit and although it might only be seven points for a couple of hours if County also win, Parkinson said: "Obviously that's the aim and The Racecourse will be bouncing.

"We knew we had a goal and a motivation against Dagenham, and how we went about it was going to be key.

"What a game to look forward to on Saturday, I can't wait.

"The lads were pleased with their work on Tuesday but their feet are firmly on the floor.

"There is so much work to be done, starting with Saturday."

Wrexham beat the Daggers to put more distance between themselves and County but with 10 games still to play, centre-back Jordan Tunnicliffe, on target at York Road, refuses to get carried away.

"We try not to look at the table too much," said Tunnicliffe.

"I know you do naturally but if we just look after ourselves and keep winning games then the table should look after itself.

"There is still a long way to go yet, 10 games is a lot of points - 30 points - up for grabs.

"We are just going to keep taking each game as it comes."

Tunnicliffe is enjoying the battle for promotion and says Wrexham and County deserve credit for setting an scintillating pace at the top of the table.

"We are both brilliant teams," he added.

"You have got to respect Notts County as well, they are just as good and the run that we are both on, it is really interesting.

"Hopefully we will stay ahead."
