LENGTHY winning runs are becoming a feature of North Wales' Crusaders League 1 story this season.

The Colwyn Bay-based side are looking to make it five wins on the bounce in the league this Sunday as they head to Oldham.

This current stretch of wins follows a brilliant run of eight victories in a row to begin the League 1 season and this means the side is in contention for a top-two finish ahead of the end-of-season play-offs.

Experienced Crusader Tommy Johnson has been a pivotal part of the superb season and he is looking for the run of victories to continue.

"I wouldn't say there's much difference (to previous seasons) to be honest," he said.

"I think as much as winning becomes a habit, so does losing.

"It can do.

"We lost a couple of games on the bounce and we wanted to turn that around.

"We are on another good run now and long may that continue."

Full back Johnson grabbed two of the tries in last weekend's key 36-26 success at home to play-off rivals Hunslet.

He also kicked six conversions to take him to 214 points for the campaign.
