NORTH Wales Crusaders' head coach Anthony Murray has been praising the impact that is still being made by one of the club's talismanic figures.

Tommy Johnson, a fixture with the Crusaders over many seasons, recently made his 200th appearance for the side.

"I think he just enjoys his rugby and he enjoys playing for North Wales Crusaders," said Murray

"He's a Crusader through and through.

"Through my coaching career with North Wales, Tommy's been part of that.

"Not just as a rugby player, but his calibre as a person.

"He is a great bloke."

The accomplishment hasn't gone unnoticed amongst the Cru faithful, with Johnson being presented with a signed, embroidered and framed short from players and staff, along with being given a trophy by Crusaders Supporters.

Johnson was in try-scoring form in last weekend's comfortable 46-16 League 1 success at Midlands Hurricanes and he will be looking for more of the same as the Crusaders defend the Celtic Shield at West Wales Raiders tomorrow.
