A POSITIVE outcome is Chirk’s target as they continue their Shropshire League Division One promotion tilt tomorrow.

Luke Gardner’s side, third in the table, host fifth-placed Newtown.

Andrew Swarbrick (pictured) impressed last weekend with his knock of 49 and a wicket in the draw at Shelton Seconds.

Liam Walker (76) was Chirk’s top scorer, with Jonathan Phillips (3-27) the main threat with the ball.

Wynn Jones, Mark Shaw, Dale Randall and Michael Parton are available for Chirk.

Skipper Gardner said: “I’m quietly confident, but I know that even when you’ve got your best 11 you’ve still got to earn the result we want.”

In Division Six, Chirk Seconds go to Quatt Thirds.

Northop Hall face the toughest of tasks tomorrow in the Liverpool Competition.

Leaders Lytham, with seven wins out of seven, play host to Hall, who brilliantly beat Colwyn Bay last weekend for their first win of the season.

Chester Boughton Hall are hosting both Lancashire and Cheshire.

Lancashire firsts have been using Chester as their training base this week and Lancashire Seconds will then host Warwickshire in a four-day county clash that starts on June 13.
