AMY Salt has a target in her mind to achieve a medal at this summer's Commonwealth Games.
Wrexham-born Amy, who hails from Coedpoeth, is looking for another personal best in Birmingham to give herself a chance of reaching the weight-lifting podium.
She will compete in the women's 76kg weight class at the major multi-sports event, having achieved the qualification total at the British Championships earlier this year.
"It was brilliant - I got a personal best," said a delighted Amy, who represents Wythenshawe Weightlifting Club.
"The previous one, at the Welsh Championships, I got 201.
"I did the same total at the British Championships and before that I got 198.
"It's been going up-and-up.
"Between 210 and 215 will be potentially good enough for a medal.
"To be honest, I'm training really hard to put myself in with a chance for a medal."
Next on the calendar is the Women's Grand Prix event in Luxembourg in late June.
"I'm really looking forward to that," added Amy.
"Luxembourg's going to be goof and I have got a good chance of winning that one."
The Birmingham Commonwealth Games will run between July 28 and August 8.
