BRAD Billsborough was thinking about a one-pointer for a while before slotting over a stunning effort in the North Wales Crusaders' most important win of the season.

Scrum half Billsborough, who will be part of the Crusaders' side for Sunday's home game with Midlands Crusaders, kicked a vital drop goal in the 13-6 victory over Swinton Lions.

"It was pretty unexpected to be honest, because it was 25 out and on the touchline.

"It was in my mind a couple of sets before.

"They were getting a bit of a roll on and we were getting a bit fatigued.

"But I didn't get the opportunity to do it.

"I thought on that set I was going to go for it.

"As soon as it left my foot I could tell it was going over.

"That deflated Swinton and it got our crowd going and gave is a bit more energy."

Crusaders, now top of League 1, will be looking to make it five wins on the bounce on Sunday.
