PHIL PARKINSON believes Wrexham have made a statement with their FA Trophy win against Stockport County.

The Reds beat the National League leaders 2-0 to book their place in the final at Wembley on May 22.

The focus is back on the promotion challenge tonight and Wrexham go into the home fixture with Barnet sitting third in the table, 11 points behind the Hatters with a game in hand.

Parkinson wants his side to remain in touch with Stockport before the teams meet at The Racecourse in the penultimate game of the season.

"It was important that we made a statement and I feel we have done that," said Parkinson.

"Both teams go away on their individual league campaigns and when we meet them, we have got to make sure that we are as close as possible to them.

"We have had some good days and nights here this season, and we are looking to create a few more.

"We will enjoy today but we need to be ready for Tuesday because it is another big game for us."
