WREXHAM beating Stockport 1-0 will be a big outcome this weekend, but it’s already been done on the hockey pitch!

Wrexham Glyndwr women’s first team went out in the sun to take on Stockport Bramhall in their latest North West League Division Two South encounter.

It seemingly was heading for a goalless draw, but Delyth Sharples had other plans as she grabbed a dramatic winner two minutes from time.

The second half turned out to be an end-to-end affair and the match was settled when Sharples’ reverse hit found the target.

Wrexham Glyndwr are scheduled to travel to Liverpool Sefton Thirds this Saturday.

In Division Five South West, Wrexham Glyndwr’s second team managed to defeat Buckley 5-2.

Northop Hall ladies’ first team played out a 3-3 draw at Southport, with Seren Cahill-Parsons, Donna Richards and Angharad Cahill-Parsons on target, while Hall Seconds defeated Bebington 6-1, thanks in the main to a hat-trick by Gemma Williams.

Rach White, player of the match Mari-Loek Wagenaar and Emily Warlow got the others.

Ella Hancock struck as Northop Hall Third lost out 7-1 to Chester Fourths.
