JORDAN DAVIES described it as a "crazy feeling" after his last-gasp winner secured three points following an 11-goal thriller against Dover Athletic.

Wrexham triumphed 6-5 at The Racecourse to climb up to second place in the National League and extend the unbeaten run to 10 games.

Leading scorer Paul Mullin and in-form midfielder James Jones put Phil Parkinson's side two-nil up after 20 minutes but Dover, who have already been relegated, equalised by the break.

The Whites scored another three goals to lead 5-2 in the 63rd minute before Wrexham got themselves back in the game thanks to Ollie Palmer's brace.

Davies levelled when the game entered injury time before the midfielder scored a 97th minute winner to complete a stunning comeback.

When asked whether he has ever been involved in a match like that, Davies said: "Certainly not.

"It was a freak game, 11 goals in it and we managed to get the split 6-5.

"I am just glad to get the three points in the end.

"Conceding five unanswered goals against Dover is not acceptable in the slightest.

"But it happened and we came out the other side with the three points.

"It could have been an easier afternoon for us but we made it tough, and thanks to the fans for driving us home."

Davies got on the end of a corner to secure three points at the death, sparking wild celebrations on and off the pitch.

"It was a great ball in from Youngy, Palms flicked it on at the front stick and I just managed to stick my neck out and poke it in," said Davies.

"It was bedlam after that, I can't really remember much!

"To celebrate like that in front of the fans means a lot and it was a crazy feeling."

Davies' double took his tally for the season to 16 goals and he said: "That is 16 for the season now which is a good return from midfield.

"Even though I should have scored more against Dover, I have got to be happy with two goals.

"The performance was certainly below par from my standards but we roll up our sleeves and look forward to Stockport."

Davies somehow hit the bar from close range when Wrexham led 2-1 and the 22-year-old knows he should have scored.

"It is miss of the season as far as I am concerned," said Davies.

"I have no idea how I managed to get it onto the crossbar and if that goes in then the outcome could have been different in another way.

"But we kept going till the end and I was glad to get the two goals."

Davies always felt Wrexham could get something out of the game after Dover scored their fifth goal, with nearly half-an-hour remaining as well as injury time.

And the Whites' time-wasting tactics only spurred the Reds on further.

"They probably scored the fifth goal too soon if you can possibly say that," added Davies.

"And when you score two quickly, we still believed.

"Mentally, they started dropping and that gives you a little bit of a boost - they have gone here and we can get back in.

"When nine minutes went up, it was a real motivation."
