PAUL MULLIN believes that the huge array of attacking talent at Rob Page's disposal can help Wales qualify for a first World Cup since 1958.
Wales host Austria in a play-off semi-final tonight, with the winners to face Scotland or Ukraine in the final.
Gareth Bale has played a starring role during the most successful period in Wales' history, helping his country reach the Euro 2016 semi-finals before qualifying for the next tournament.
But Mullin, Wrexham's 18-goal leading scorer who has declared himself eligible for Wales, says there is a lot more talent than Real Madrid forward Bale in the ranks and that has made the Dragons exciting to watch.
"Since Euro 2016 when nobody expected Wales to do really well and they did - they exceeded all expectations - it looks like Welsh football has gone from strength to strength in terms of the side they can pick and the calibre of player they can pick," said Mullin.
"They have got brilliant players now and they have actually become exciting to watch with Dan James, a lot of pace, obviously everyone knows about Gareth Bale, and Harry Wilson is doing really well at Fulham.
"Wales have got a lot of attacking talent and a lot of pace in the team."
Mullin hopes Wales can finish the job off and qualify for the finals in Qatar in November and December,
"It is a massive game for Wales," added Mullin.
"I will be able to watch it because we haven't got a game and hopefully they win.
"You want as many of the home nations as you can at the World Cup; obviously England are there and you just hope that Wales can get there and do really well."
