JAMES JONES treats the FA Trophy - and a possible Wembley final - as a "nice little bonus" with the midfielder insisting that promotion will always be Wrexham's priority.

The Reds have progressed to the semi-finals of non-league's premier cup competition and the reward for Friday's 2-1 victory at Notts County is a home tie against title rivals Stockport County on Saturday April 2.

The winners will face either Bromley or York City in the Wembley showpiece in May but Jones is focussed on the National League until the Reds are back on Trophy duty.

Phil Parkinson's side, who have won their last seven games in all competitions, are fourth in the table, nine points behind leaders Stockport with a game in hand, and Jones wants to keep the good run going so Wrexham remain in contention for automatic promotion.

"It is a nice little carrot in the Trophy if we can win the next one," said Jones.

"But we have just got to take each game as it comes and focus on the league as well.

"We take every competition that we are in seriously and the Trophy is a great opportunity to get to Wembley and get some silverware.

"The league is the number one priority but this would be a nice little bonus on top of that."

Wrexham, who have 13 league games remaining, are back in action at Bromley on Saturday and Jones added: "They keep coming along, we have just got to do what we have to do and hopefully keep picking up the points."
