WREXHAM scooped the team prize at the popular Nick Beer 10k event in Llandudno.

The team took top spot with 28 points, spearheaded by two members achieving top-three spots.

Ryan Davis was the runner-up in 33.53, with Luke Northall (33.59) in third spot.

 

The Leader:

 

They were backed up by Harvey Davis (23rd in 38.02), while third in the M45 class was Andrew Jones (35th in 39.52).

Mike Robbins (60th in 43.33) was runner-up in the M55 category, followed by Karl Moore (291st in 56.14) and Peter Norman (531st in 82.02).

At the Oulton Park 10k, Erin Smith crossed the line 29th thanks to her time of 55.35 and Joel Gomes was third at the Conwy fell race, clocking 43.53.

Neil Bull finished 69th in 78.33 and not too far behind was Karen Owens (72nd in 84.23).

There was a victory for Logan Gomes in the junior U9s' race at Conwy.

A quartet of Wrexham AC members took to the start line at the Welsh Schools cross country championships in Brecon.

There were two competitors in the year seven girls' race, with Seren Northall (Ysgol Dinas Bran) in ninth spot with her time of 8.52 and Evie Hughes (Maelor School) finished 32nd in 9.26.

Ella Davis (St Joseph's) clocked 12.38 for 11th position in the junior girls event and Harvey Davis (St Joseph's) took to the start line in the middle boys' race, finishing 13th in 15.36.

There was a strong contingent of Wrexham racers who turned out for the most recent Erddig Parkrun.

They were led home by Gwyn Roberts, who was 16th in 22.38, followed by Alan Williams (29th in 25.10), Karl Moore (49th in 27.26) and Beth Christy (73rd in 29.19).

In 75th position was Steven Gunn (29.38), closely followed by Phil Walker (85th in 30.43) and Lucy Morris (158th in 39.52).

Two Wrexham racers achieved top-three spots competing at the Alyn Waters junior parkrun.

A time of 9.07 saw Bethan Roberts in second position, while Evie Hughes' personal best of 9.15 saw her finish third.

There were also good runs from Rhys Jones (fifth in 10.23) and Grace Hughes (sixth in 10.37).

There are two events this Saturday. Colwyn Bay hosts the next fixture in the North Wales junior cross country league and there's also the Rhyl 10-mile event, which incorporates the North Wales championships.

The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly on Sunday, though, with the Village Bakery half marathon in Wrexham (10am).
