PAUL MULLIN wants Wrexham to start producing 90 minute performances in the push for promotion.

The Reds return to The Racecourse for this evening's clash with Grimsby Town on the back of Saturday's come-from-behind 2-1 win against Yeovil.

Phil Parkinson's side produced a dreadful first half performance at Huish Park and trailed 1-0, but the Reds' boss got the perfect response after the break.

Mullin equalised with a stunning strike and Wrexham secured victory when Jordan Davies connected with substitute Liam McAlinden's cross and Glovers defender Mordan Williams turned the ball into his own net.

It was a much improved second period showing and Mullin stressed the need for Wrexham, up to sixth in the National League, to perform like that for the whole game.

"That's been the case a lot this season, we have had one good half and one poor half," said Mullin.

"That is something we have got to stamp out.

"The first half was nowhere near good enough for this club and this set of players, the gaffer let us know that at half-time which was only right and the fans let us know too; it was totally deserved, we were miles off it.

"Second half we came out with the bit between our teeth. The least you want to do is send the fans, who have travelled miles away, home with a bit of pride that you have put a right shift in for them.

"We got on the front foot, got after them a bit more, started getting me in behind a bit more and thankfully our second half performance has pulled us out of it."

Mullin is looking for Wrexham, just five points behind leaders Chesterfield, to pick up where they left off against Grimsby.

"I have listened to a lot of Steven Gerrard interviews and we have got to have a no excuse culture," said Mullin.

"We have got no excuses for performing like that in the first half but ultimately we won the game.

"It is a long season and we have just got to keep playing like we did in the second half for longer spells in games."

Mullin got back on the scoresheet with a spectacular strike from just inside the area, scoring his first goal since he netted in the 2-0 win against Bromley on November 27.

It was another contender for Goal of the Season but the fans' favourite doesn't care how he finds the back of the net as long as the Reds are winning games.

"It is great to score a lovely goal but I would take it hitting me on the backside and going in," added Mullin.

"It doesn't matter how they go in.

"It sparked a comeback for us which is the main thing and we have gone on and won the game.

"To score a goal any time is a good feeling but when you win games it is even better."
