IT was a typical game of two halves but all that mattered was Wrexham leaving Huish Park with three points to get the promotion challenge back on track.

Returning to National League duty following a three week break, the Reds were awful in the opening period against mid-table Yeovil and deserved to trail at the interval, and it could have been more than 1-0 as the Glovers missed some good chances.

However, Phil Parkinson's half-time team talk had the desired effect as his side turned things around to clinch a 2-1 victory.

Top scorer Paul Mullin equalised with his 13th goal of the season, finding the top corner with a stunning strike, and Morgan Williams' own goal after Jordan Davies connected with Liam McAlinden's cross secured victory.

Wrexham are now up to sixth in the league, five points behind leaders Chesterfield.

Here's how the players rated:

ROB LAINTON: Didn’t have too much to do despite Yeovil having some good first half chances, might have done better for the goal. 6

REECE HALL-JOHNSON: Made some inroads down the right but lacked that end product. Hit the woodwork late on. 6

AARON HAYDEN: It was tough going first half for Hayden but he upped his game after the break. 6

BEN TOZER: Yeovil were a threat all game but Wrexham handled it better in the second half after first period struggles. 6

HARRY LENNON: Had a decent game on his return to the side following a one-game ban. 6

BRYCE HOSANNAH: Not as effective as he has been this season and injury cut short the wing-back's afternoon. 5

JAMES JONES: Was much more involved in the game second half when Wrexham proved their worth, winning his battles. 7

LUKE YOUNG: Same for all of the midfield - better after the break. 6

JORDAN DAVIES: His second half improvement was rewarded with the shot that was deflected in for the winner. 6

PAUL MULLIN: Went close to scoring early in the second half before equalising with a brilliant strike. 7

KWAME THOMAS: Handed a first league start of the season but never got into the game and subbed at half-time. 5

SUBSTITUTES

JORDAN PONTICELLI: Made a big difference when he came on for the second half, causing a lot of problems. 7

LIAM MCALINDEN: Another substitute who made an impact, having a big hand in the winning goal. 7
