PHIL PARKINSON expressed his disappointment at not being able to get a defeat quickly out of the system with Wrexham's promotion push put on hold for three weeks.

The Reds suffered a 3-1 defeat at Notts County on Sunday but remain third in the National League, four points behind leaders Chesterfield.

Wrexham don't get the chance to bounce back tomorrow as scheduled opponents Boreham Wood are on FA Cup duty while the Reds host Folkstone Invicta in the fourth round of the FA Trophy next weekend.

The next league game is at Yeovil on Saturday January 22 and Parkinson says the players and staff will use the time wisely before resuming the promotion challenge.

"It just hurts a little more when you have got so long to wait for a league game," Parkinson said in reference to the Magpies loss.

"But we are a team, we are a squad and a staff, we stick together with our supporters and we have just got to take the disappointments together and get ready to respond again, and we will do that.

"We have got a few weeks now and we have got a lot of work to do."
