PHIL PARKINSON is backing Wrexham to bounce back from defeat with a positive result at Dover tomorrow and start what he hopes will be a decent December.

Tuesday's first home defeat of the season at the hands of Yeovil prevented Wrexham from coming through November unbeaten in the National League.

The Reds climbed up to seventh after stringing together their best run of the season before losing 2-0 against the Glovers and Parkinson is looking for an immediate response from his side against bottom of the table Dover at The Crabble Ground.

"We are very proud of our home record but we have got to take it on the chin and bounce back at the weekend at Dover," said Parkinson.

"We have got to dust ourselves down.

"You feel on a bit of a high after the weekend and then you get knocked back very quickly in football but we will respond again at the weekend.

"It is disappointing when you lose, it does hurt. The fans are hurt, we are, but we will bounce back at the weekend.

"We will go down to Dover and put a performance in. I am absolutely sure of that.

"We will be ready for it. We will go down there and start our December run off hopefully in style."

Liam McAlinden was controversially sent off in the 34th minute against Yeovil with the midfielder shown a straight red card following an alleged elbowing offence that Parkinson disputed.

The Glovers scored twice in the second half and the Reds' boss wasn't happy with the defending.

"I said to the lads that football can be a cruel game," said Parkinson.

"Yes, we can look at the referee and we will do; we will moan about that but equally we could have done better in terms of the defending, particularly for the first goal."

Wing-back Bryce Hosannah echoed his manager's sentiments and wants to start another unbeaten run with three points against Dover.

"We have been on a good run and I feel like the performances have been good as well," said Hosannah.

"Wealdstone at home wasn't the best but apart from that, in the four wins we had I felt they were good, solid performances in those games.

"We felt confident going into the Yeovil game which just makes it even more disappointing that we lost but we have got to forget about it and try and start another good run against Dover."
