PHIL PARKINSON wanted a 90 minute performance at The Racecourse and the Reds boss was delighted to see his players oblige.

Wrexham went into Saturday's clash against Bromley unbeaten at home but Parkinson's men drew their previous three games at their iconic north Wales stadium and failed to score more than once in a game all season.

But that all changed as goals in each half from Reece Hall-Johnson and Paul Mullin secured a 2-0 victory over high-flying Bromley who played the majority of the game with 10 men after midfielder Liam Trotter was shown a straight red card in the eighth minute following a late challenge on Dan Jarvis.

Parkinson was pleased with how his side went about their business - for the whole match.

"We spoke to the lads about sustaining performances at home, just concentrating on what we need to do and sticking to the game-plan," said Parkinson.

"I felt we did that today.

"At half-time we said to the lads we owe it to ourselves to make sure we keep doing the right things right to the end; not 75 minutes and then start doing something different.

"Just concentrate and move the ball quickly, making the angles, getting in good areas and trying to put quality into the box.

"I felt we stuck to that and the lads are pleased with the day's work."

Wrexham could have won by a bigger margin as Jordan Davies and Bryce Hosannah both hit the woodwork in the second half while Jake Hyde and Mullin had goals disallowed for offside.

Nevertheless, Parkinson was happy with the display at a windswept Racecourse and a deserved three points.

"We hit the inside of the post, hit the bar and had a couple of goals disallowed. The linesman was very eagle-eyed on that side!" said Parkinson.

"I thought it was a good example of how to play against 10 men in difficult conditions.

"Very blustery and windy but we kept the ball moving, we were patient when we had to be patient and we had other opportunities to score.

"But it was a good, professional performance and we backed up Tuesday (2-1 win at Halifax) against one of the better teams in Bromley.

"It would have been nice to score more but I am very pleased with the result and the performance."

The one disappointment was seeing Jarvis stretchered off following Trotter's lunge and Parkinson gave an update on the midfielder.

"Dan has got ankle ligament damage," said Parkinson.

"I haven't seen the challenge again but the referee is right on the spot and he instantly pulled the red card out.

"People who have seen it again said it was an over the top challenge and it deserved a straight red card."
