JORDAN PONTICELLI earned praise from Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson who has leading scorer Paul Mullin available for tomorrow's trip to King's Lynn.

Mullin, top of the charts with nine goals, was handed a three game ban following an elbowing offence in the 3-2 defeat at Maidenhead United on October 26.

In the absence of Mullin, Ponticelli has weighed in with two goals, the latest coming in the Reds' brilliant 5-0 win against struggling Aldershot in midweek.

It was the pick of the goals, with Ponticelli finding the top corner of the net following James Jones' pass, and Parkinson has been impressed with the striker.

"JP's goal was excellent," said Parkinson.

"It was a great move, fantastic play from James Jones who was very good; he gives us so much energy.

"But JP deserved that. He is another player with incredible industry. He got a goal on Saturday and got another one.

"Every time he has played for us, his all-round game and work for the team is outstanding."

Parkinson was delighted Wrexham, up to ninth in the National League, were in the goals despite being without Mullin and fellow striker Jake Hyde who is injured.

"Take two goalscorers out of any team at any level and it is's a big one," said Parkinson.

"The lads were outstanding and it is a great boost for the whole squad to get the five goals without those two in the team."
