SAME again is Steve Parkin’s plea as Wrexham head to Aldershot Town looking to pick up the win they were denied last month in Hampshire.

The Reds were leading 2-0 when the game on October 2 was abandoned after 52 minutes because of a waterlogged pitch at The Recreation Ground.

It was a dominant performance by Phil Parkinson’s side and although the result doesn’t count, right-hand man Parkin wants a repeat of that display in tonight’s re-arranged fixture.

“We have just got to go down and play in the same manner as we did when we went down there before,” said Parkin, who saw Jake Hyde and Paul Mullin put Wrexham in control against the Shots.

“We were in great shape and we played some good stuff.

“We created chances and we thoroughly deserved the lead that we got there.

“I am sure it was a game we would have come through and won but that is gone now.

“We have got to concentrate on Tuesday and make sure the lads are motivated.”

Aldershot have lost their last four league games and are second from bottom with Parkin hoping victory over Mark Molesley’s side can lead to mid-table Wrexham stringing a run or results together.

“We will make sure we go down there full of confidence,” said Parkin.

“They have changed a lot of their staff, he has brought a lot of players in but we will be ready to go on Tuesday night.

“The key thing is getting some momentum in our game and we get some momentum in our results.”
