HOPEFULLY a trio of Wrexham AC members weren't chased by lions, tigers and cheetahs in a 10k race!

Three club members took part in the Chester Zoo 10k event on Halloween.

There was a top-10 finish for Darren Rowlands, who was ninth overall in a time of 35 minutes and 51 seconds.

This was enough to see him win the M50 class.

His daughter Emily Rowlands clocked 52.42 for 404th position and his wife Lynda Rowlands finished 879th in 60.27.

Meanwhile, a day earlier and there was a decent contingent of Wrexham AC racers taking to the start line for the North Staffs Cross-Country League fixture at Park Hall.

In the senior men's race, Ryan Davis was just off the podium as he finished fourth in 24.12.

Neil Edwards' time of 51.53 saw him cross the finishing line in 51.53.

Elsewhere at the event, there were a couple of lofty finishes from club members.

Ella Davis was the runner-up in the U15 girls' race in 9.44.

Turning to the U17 men's race and a time of 21.21 saw Harvey Davis in third position.

Halloween saw the Clwydian Hills Race from Cilcain, where Joel Gomes was fourth overall and the first M40 on the day in 1-23.02.

Parkruns turned out to be popular for club members, particularly at Erddig, where nine Wrexham AC vests were on show.

Leading the contingent home was Peter Hughes, finishing 16th in 22.45.

David Millington's effort of 23.19 saw him in 20th and Charles Ashley was 59th in 27.27.

Close by were Alan Williams (64th in 28.18) and Beth Christy (70th in 28.49), with top-100 placings also going the way of Ben Peters (92nd in 30.09) and Gillian Csizmadia (98th in 30.40).

Completing the Wrexham AC contingent at the event were Lucy Morris (133rd in 36.57) and Peter Norman (143rd in 39.09).

Over at the Wepre parkrun, Mike Robbins' effort of 23.26 saw him cross the line in 16th spot.

What a time to produce a personal best!

Bethan Roberts' run of 9.03 was enough to see her win the Alyn Waters junior parkrun.

Evie Hughes achieved third position with 9.31 and Grace Hughes finished seventh in 10.54.

This Saturday sees the next round of the North Wales Junior Cross-Country League, with the races at Dolerw Park, Newtown.
