WREXHAM are due another decent FA Cup run!

Yes, the priority is challenging for promotion back to the Football League but some of my happiest memories watching Wrexham are the famous cup shocks during the 1990s.

Arsenal and other top-flight sides Ipswich Town, West Ham and Middlesbrough all came unstuck against Brian Flynn's Reds, with the run to the quarter finals in 1996-97 very enjoyable.

In the non-league era, Wrexham have made it to the third round and given both Brighton and Stoke a run for their money.

Three wins and Phil Parkinson's side could be facing one of the Premier League giants but it's one game at a time and they firstly have to give Marine the respect they deserve.

The Mariners wrote their own headlines in the competition last season and will be hoping to experience the magic of the cup once again.

It promises to be a cracking cup-tie at Rossett Park and Wrexham just have to make sure they are up for the fight as much as their part-time opponents.

It has all the makings of a great FA Cup tie at Marine where Wrexham fans will be outnumbered at Rossett Park.

Wrexham have such a proud history of giant-killings in the famous competition while Marine grabbed the headlines for going all the way to the third round last season.

Marine won't make it easy in front of their home supporters but Wrexham should have the quality to get through because an FA Cup run is just what the club needs and it will make good viewing on the club's documentary if Phil Parkinson can put his side in with a chance of mixing it with the big boys in round three.

One of the fans commenting on Wrexham's FA Cup past remembers a clash at Runcorn in the late Eighties where Graham Cooper scored a late leveller in a 2-2 draw.

I think it will be that exciting again only this time, Wrexham will sink Marine with a last-gasp winner.
