WREXHAM boss Phil Parkinson could receive a welcome boost for tomorrow's eagerly awaited showdown against Stockport County with the return of two key players.

Midfielder Jordan Davies has missed the last two games with a calf injury sustained in the 1-0 victory over Woking on September 11 where he scored the winner but could be back at Edgeley Park.

A hamstring problem kept Jake Hyde - the Reds' joint leading scorer with three goals - out of last Saturday's success by the same scoreline over leaders Dagenham and Redbridge but the striker is also in line to return against County.

Should one or both players fail to make their comeback, Parkinson is confident the duo will both be available for the trip to lowly Aldershot Town next Saturday.

"Jake will be very close for the weekend," said Parkinson.

"If he doesn't make it, he will be fit for Aldershot.

"Jordan will be close as well and if he doesn't make this one, he will certainly be fit for Aldershot."

Wrexham bounced back from their first defeat of the season at Grimsby by beating the Daggers to climb up to seventh in the National League.

"We were pleased with the three points and we are looking to build on that," added Parkinson.

"We have had a good look at the game and analysed it, and there are things we can improve."

Wrexham and Stockport, installed by bookmakers as title favourites, are seen as the big spenders in the National League but Parkinson insists other clubs have splashed the cash in pursuit of promotion.

"A lot has been made of us spending money and Stockport spending money," added Parkinson.

"We are seen as the two big spenders but there are a lot of other teams in the league who have spent a lot and have got big squads, and are having a real go at it.

"But there is an expectancy on us and Stockport, and we can't wait for the game at the weekend."

Defender Tyler French insists Wrexham will be going all out for victory against Stockport.

“It is a massive game for both teams,” said French.

“One that we will take on our shoulders and try and go for all three points.

“It is a game we are desperate to win."
