WREXHAM supporters and Grimsby Town fans can sympathise with each other for the hand the footballing Gods have dealt them over the years.

Both clubs have enjoyed better times over the years, reaching the old Second Division in their respective hey-days.

At least Grimsby can say they know what it takes to get out of non league football, having triumphed in the National League’s 2016 Play-off Final at Wembley.

Now they find themselves back in the so-called fifth division but, like Wrexham, have had a decent start and with home advantage they have to be favourites to win at Blundell Park tonight.

Wrexham are still a work in progress and a point would help maintain their unbeaten start under new boss Phil Parkinson.

And I’m sure the Reds hierarchy would settle for a point in what should be a fiery atmosphere up on the coast.

And that would set things up for another big game and another bumper crowd at home to leaders Dagenham on Saturday.

NICK HARRISON: Grimsby Town 0 Wrexham 0

A DRAW wouldn't be a bad result tonight but you can guarantee that Wrexham will be going all out for three points against Grimbsy Town at Blundell Park.

The Reds have not been given an easy start to the season but Phil Parkinson's men have emerged unbeaten and there's still a lot to come from them.

The majority of matches on the road have ended in a draw, which is never a bad result, but a win against Grimsby would be a real statement.

Also expected to challenge for promotion this season, the Mariners are also yet to taste defeat and came from behind to win 3-1 at Torquay on Saturday.

Something has to give tonight, although you could easily see it ending all square, and that would set Wrexham up nicely for Saturday's home game with leaders Dagenham this weekend.
