THE father of goalkeeper Josh Atkins – who sadly died following a collision on the A483 back in March – was invited to present the league trophy to his son's title-winning teammates.
The touching moment came after FC Abbi Access clinched the Chester & District Sunday Football League Section B crown with a 4-3 win over Tarvin Rex on Sunday.
Josh, who was from the Saltney area, died in the early hours of March 28 following a collision on the A483 in Wrexham.
He was well-known on the local football scene in North Wales having played for teams in Broughton, Buckley, Connah's Quay and Corwen.
His Abbi Access teammates needed all three points to clinch the Section B title and had to come from behind twice to be crowned champions.
The title and individual trophies where presented to the Chester-based team by Josh's dad Keith Atkin.
