DEAN KEATES is taking nothing for granted against play-off rivals Notts County but the Wrexham boss admits his side are in a great position to clinch a play-off spot with three games to go.

Saturday's 3-2 come-from-behind victory at Boreham Wood took Wrexham up to fifth in the National League but the competition for a top-seven finish is fierce with six teams within five points of the Reds.

Wrexham have three games remaining and victory over sixth placed County would take the Reds one step closer to extending the season.

Keates is not getting carried away but he knows the end goal is in sight.

"Tuesday night might not go to plan," said Keates.

"But we have given ourselves a chance, and we have still got two games after that.

"As it stands, we are in a great position. It is in our hands but we will run our own race.

"We will stick together, we believe in each other and confidence is there. It is a great team spirit that we have got."

Midfielder Luke Young knows the importance of tonight's fixture.

"The Notts County game is massive for both teams," said the Reds' 10-goal leading scorer.

"It is big in terms of the play-off race."
