WREXHAM have had a spell of games against teams challenging for promotion but Dean Keates won’t be taking lowly Woking lightly

The Reds’ triumphed 4-0 at Halifax on Tuesday to climb back into the play-off places, ending a run of three successive defeats, and they now face the 19th placed Cards at The Kingfield Stadium tomorrow.

Although Woking, beaten 4-3 by Bromley in midweek, are struggling at the wrong end of the National League - there is no relegation this season - Keates will give Alan Dowson’s side the respect they deserve but he is targeting another win to keep Wrexham on course for a top seven finish.

“You take no-one lightly in this division,” said Keates. “Bromley are just behind us and going for it, and at points Woking were in the lead.

“It is a new game and we will have to go down there and earn the right to win a football match.”

The landslide victory over Halifax, where all four goals were scored in the opening 35 minutes, might give Wrexham added confidence but Keates isn’t getting carried away with plenty of work still to do in the final nine games to cement a play-off place.

“The games have come thick and fast, I have to stay level and keep the group on a level par,” said Keates.

“We have never gone too high and we have never gone too low.

“When we win games, you enjoy that experience but it’s gone.

“We run our own race and believe in the process that we are in. We have given ourselves a chance going into the last nine games.”

Keates is hoping for another quickfire start from his side.

“We have started well in games and not taken our opportunities,” said Keates.

“Against Halifax, the lads took the game-plan into the game and we started really bright.

“It was pleasing when we got one and we pushed on.

“It was relentless first half and then second half it was an equal game; they hit the crossbar but we created a couple of half-chances and their goalkeeper has made a few decent saves."
