WREXHAM need to end their barren run quickly if they are going to remain on course for the play-offs.

The Reds suffered a third defeat in a row against a team in the top-seven as they went down 3-0 at home to Stockport County.

Despite making a good start, Wrexham conceded against the run of play and Stockport took advantage of more poor defending to double their advantage in the 25th minute with ex-Reds' striker Alex Reid scoring both goals.

You couldn't see any way back for Dean Keates' side, who were second best in all departments, after that and a well-organised County outfit grabbed a third goal in the second half as former Wrexham midfielder John Rooney converted a penalty.

Defeat keeps Wrexham in eight spot, three points away from the play-offs heading into another vital game at seventh placed Halifax on Tuesday.
