DEAN KEATES has no qualms about Wrexham's campaign continuing well into June if it means his side are involved in the play-offs.

The Reds go into tomorrow's home game against Stockport sitting eighth in the table after losing both games at Easter.

But Keates is ready for one final push to ensure his side finish in the top-seven and contest the play-offs which are scheduled to take place over the first three weekends of June.

"We go into the last 11 games, we are not where we want to be on the back end of the two defeats but we are in an okay position," said Keates.

"We are still in a confident mood, the defeats have not been through lack of performance.

"We are in a position where we feel we can keep pushing in the last quarter of the season and make sure we do our best to get this football club challenging at the end of the season, and prolong the season as long as we can.

"If we can prolong the season until June 19-20 when the play-offs are scheduled for, then so be it; that is our aim."

Keates is looking to get back to winning ways against fourth placed Stockport who are unbeaten in seven outings.

"It is going to be a really difficult game, they are in a rich vein of form," said Keates, who is set to again be without Rob Lainton (groin), Theo Vassell (head wound) and Jordan Ponticelli (hamstring), as well as long term injury victim Kwame Thomas (Achilles').

"But we will go all-out to get three points and lay a foundation to push us forward in the last 10 games."

Keates is confident of winning his appeal against a charge of aggressive behaviour following his red card in the 2-2 draw with Eastleigh.

"I am led to believe that Eastleigh's assistant manager has had the case dropped against him after appealing it so I am optimistic that the right decision will be made for myself," said Keates.

"Everyone who watched the stream can see I don't leave my technical area, I don't actually do much.

"If somebody has had their red card rescinded by the English FA for running into our technical area and getting involved, I will optimistic mine will be rescinded as well by the Welsh FA."
