DEAN KEATES wants Wrexham to go into a well-earned break on the back of a win.

Wrexham have had five successive Tuesday night matches but after facing lowly Wealdstone at The Racecourse tomorrow, the Reds are without a game until they head to Sutton United next weekend.

The midweek break will be all the more sweeter if Wrexham pick up three points against the Stones.

Having seen the six-game unbeaten run come to an end when losing 3-0 at Aldershot last Saturday, Wrexham did not have a shot on target as they drew 0-0 with Hartlepool on Tuesday.

Keates wants to build on that clean sheet by being more effective at the other end of the pitch against Wealdstone.

"We are at home so we will be looking to get three points," said Keates.

"We have got a spare week next week, we have got to go for it at the weekend.

"Against Aldershot we were in double figures in attempts at goal and chances on target, we had more than Aldershot but we didn't score at the weekend either.

"We were at home on Tuesday and it was a chance to go one point behind Hartlepool if we beat them but it still keeps us in a good position.

“We are disappointed but we will look to build on it and use the clean sheet as a platform, and get the three points at the weekend.”

Reece Hall-Johnson went off injured in the first half against Hartlepool and Keates hopes the lively wing-back is passed fit.

"Reece plays on the front foot, he gives us energy and carries the ball up the pitch for us," said Keates.

"He creates opportunities for team-mates and he has weighed in with a couple of goals.

"He felt his thigh at the weekend, he trained on Monday and there was no reaction to it, he said he felt fine.

"He got another knock on it and it started to tighten up so we will see how it settles down for Saturday."
