WREXHAM kicked off 2021 with a 3-1 victory over bogey side Dover Athletic at The Racecourse.
The lively Reece Hall-Johnson gave Dean Keates' side a 32nd minute lead with a fine solo goal but the Reds never built on it and after conceding a needless free-kick, again conceded from a set-piece as the bottom of the table Whites equalised just before the break.
It was hardly a classic performance but Wrexham again went ahead when Fiacre Kelleher netted his first goal for the club on the hour mark and Luke Yong converted a stoppage time penalty to seal just a second ever win against Dover - and first at The Racecourse - in 12 outings.
Victory took Wrexham, playing for the first time in nearly three weeks, up to eighth in the National League and only outside the play-offs on goal difference.
Here's how the players rated.
ROB LAINTON: Beaten once but it was Dover's only real effort on target and didn't have saves to make. 6
JAMES HORSFIELD: Replaced the injured Pearson in the back three and limited Dover to few chances. 6
FIACRE KELLEHER: Scored his first goal for Wrexham and was solid in his defensive role. 7
THEO VASSELL: Failed to take an early chance but also prevented a certain goal at the other end. 7
REECE HALL-JOHNSON: A huge attacking threat and gave Wrexham the lead with a neat finish after a great run. 8
JAY HARRIS: Gave away a silly free-kick that led to Dover's equaliser on his 200th league appearance for the Reds. 5
LUKE YOUNG: Had the assist for Kelleher and scored a late penalty to seal victory. 6
JORDAN DAVIES: Was kept pegged back by Bramble and unable to support attacks as much as Hall-Johnson. 5
DAN JARVIS: Played in a free-role between midfield and attack but the game passed him by. 5
JORDAN PONTICELLI: Worked hard in the Reds' attack, had one good chance after the break. 5
ADI YUSSUF: Also put in a good shift but the strikers didn't get many opportunities. 5
SUBSTITUTES
PAUL RUTHERFORD: Came on in added time. 4
KWAME THOMAS: Also a late sub but won a penalty. 5
